- All students at Robert Townson High School (except Year 7 and Year 12), are required to participate in the school's sport program.
- In the case of a temporary disability, students are required to bring a note from their parents/guardians to the Sports Organiser at recess. Wherever possible, students will be expected to attend normal sport and assist the teacher. When this is not possible and in the case of a long-term disability, students will be supervised in a non-sport group. Long term disabilities must be supported by a Doctor's Certificate.
- Students are only permitted to leave school early on Sports Day for an unavoidable appointment. This must be supported by an appointment card or telephone number and must be presented to the Sports Organiser first thing in the morning before the warning bell rings.
Students Unable to Participate in Sports
- Students who are unfit to participate in their chosen activities are required to see the Sports Organiser for approval of non-participation. Once again this application is required to be in writing in the same format as specified above. Students who are granted approval for non-participation of sport are may be permitted (at the discretion of the sports teacher) to travel in the same manner as their sporting group, otherwise they join the non-sport group.
- Staff will be issued with “Participation Concern Slips”, these slips are to be used where a student/s do not participate at a level required by the school.
- Disciplinary action will be taken against those students where it is felt that their participation level is not satisfactory.
Wet Weather
- In the event of wet weather students/teachers will be made aware of the alternate arrangements for the sports afternoon on the Wednesday morning.
Uniforms
- All students, regardless of their chosen sporting activity, are required to wear their full sportsuniform.
- In those sports where the school provides playing apparel, students are expected to maintain its condition and return it to their coach at the conclusion of their last game.

- Staff will be issued with “Uniform Concern Slips”; these slips are to be used where a student does not comply with the uniform standard required by the school.
