About our school

Robert Townson High School was established in 1987 to serve the communities of Raby and St Andrews in the City of Campbelltown. The school has a strong commitment to providing the means by which all students can achieve their potential academically, culturally, socially and in sport. We encourage personal best from every student.

Robert Townson High School services 980 students.Our curriculum offer a diverse range of subjects and we cater for Life Skills, Vocational and academic subjects. Within our school is a specialist school for hearing impaired students of which we had 17 students ranging from Year 7 to Year 12.

We expect that our students will study diligently, wear school uniform and behave in a manner which brings credit upon themselves and their school.

About Robert Townson

Robert Townson ( 1763-1827) was a magistrate in Sydney's colonial days. He purchased a large amount of land in what is now North Campbelltown which he farmed and grazed cattle and sheep. This land he name Varrowville which was also the name first given to Robert Townson High School in its planning days. As well as being a farmer and magistrate he turned his hand to scientific investigation during his time at Varrowville.
